Warranty
Thank you for purchasing the newest Enviro Buggy. This Buggy is South Africa’s only locally manufactured electric vehicle (EV) at present. It is designed mainly to help clean up waste and debris that destroys our planet.
Because the Buggy is comprised of mostly aluminium and stainless steel, it promotes environmental friendliness and is very durable. If this Buggy is looked after properly, it will serve its purpose – as well as our planet – for an extended period. The Enviro Buggy is not designed to be used in water and should not be exposed to excessive amounts of water or liquids other than when being cleaned as instructed. It is not designed to be used as a load-carrying or towing vehicle either, nor carry anything other than waste, litter, debris and leaves. We do not recommend using the Enviro Buggy on extremely rocky terrain or on steep slopes where there is less traction control.
Overall, the Buggy has a warranty of 12 (twelve) months from the date of purchase on most mechanical and electronic parts from the date of its transfer into your possession. This can be broken down as follows:
1. Mechanical
1.1 Main Frame
We provide a 12 (twelve) month manufacturer warranty against faulty workmanship, cracking, breaking or bending of the frame. This excludes damages caused by operator negligence, not using the frame in accordance with the instructions, abuse (direct or indirect), overloading, damages caused during shipping/transportation, natural causes/disasters, damages caused by self-assembly (if applicable), or using the frame for anything other than what it is designed for. Modifications made by persons other than the manufacturer will also void the warranty.
1.1 Collection Bin
We provide a 12 (twelve) month manufacturer warranty against faulty workmanship, cracking, breaking, or bending of the collection bin and top lid. This excludes damages caused by operator negligence, not using the components in accordance with the instructions, abuse (direct or indirect), overloading, damages caused during shipping/transportation, natural causes/disasters, damages caused during self-assembly (if applicable), and using the bin for anything other than what it is designed for. Modifications made by persons other than the manufacturer will also void the warranty.
1.2 Collection Baskets
We provide a 12 (twelve) month manufacturer warranty against faulty workmanship cracking, breaking, or bending of the collection baskets. This excludes damages caused by operator negligence, not using the baskets in accordance with the instructions, abuse (direct or indirect), overloading, damages caused during shipping/transportation, natural causes/disasters, damages caused during self-assembly (if applicable), and using the baskets for anything other than what they are designed for. Modifications made by persons other than the manufacturer will also void the warranty.
1.3 Bearings and Oil Seals
These items are subject to wear and tear. Should the items need replacing, they are for the purchasers account and can be obtained from any local bearing supplier.
1.4 Rear Wheel Drive
We provide a 12 (twelve) month manufacturer warranty against faulty workmanship of the bevel gears. This excludes damages caused by operator negligence, not using the component in accordance with the instructions, abuse (direct or indirect), overloading, damages caused during shipping/transportation, natural causes/disasters, damages caused during self-assembly (if applicable), and using this component for anything other than what it is designed for. Modifications made by persons other than the manufacturer will also void the warranty.
1.5 Vacuum Fan
We provide a 12 (twelve) month manufacturer warranty against faulty workmanship of the vacuum fan. This excludes damages caused by operator negligence, not using the component in accordance with the instructions, abuse (direct or indirect), overloading, damages caused during shipping/transportation, natural causes/disasters, damages caused during self-assembly (if applicable), and using the fan for anything other than what it is designed for. Modifications made by persons other than the manufacturer will also void the warranty.
1.6 Vacuum Hose and Nozzles
The above is made from a flexible hose and a PVC pipe (.1 and .05) sized nozzle. These items are subject to wear and tear. Should the items need replacing, they are for the purchasers account and can be obtained from any local hardware supplier.
2. Electronics
2.1 Motors and Controllers
We provide a 12 (twelve) month warranty on the motors and controllers as per the OEM. Modifications made to these parts by persons other than the manufacturer will also void this warranty, as well as damages caused during shipping/transportation.
2.2 Control Panel
The control panel is subject to a 12 (twelve) month warranty excluding damages caused by operator negligence, not using the component in accordance with the instructions, abuse (direct or indirect), overloading, damages caused during shipping/transportation, natural causes/disasters, damages caused during self-assembly (if applicable), and using the control panel for anything other than what it is designed for. Modifications made by persons other than the manufacturer will also void the warranty.
3. Maintenance Considerations
The Enviro-Buggy is mainly built from aluminum and stainless steel, reducing the maintenance significantly. After each clean up the Buggy should be washed with warm water and preferably stored with a cover to protect it against dust and the elements.
We recommend regularly cleaning the inside of the main collection bin with soap and water, which will then flush out at the bottom of the trap door.
The motors are 48V DC brushless motors and are maintenance free. The drive motor has a maintenance free reduction box built in. The rear drive axle is hard chromed and is maintenance free.
The rear motor drives the rear wheels through a set of bevel gears in an oil bath. The oil should be checked every 6 (six) months.
The bearings have built in seals and do not need any maintenance.
The Enviro Buggy is manufactured to be ecologically accommodating, sturdy and long-lasting, and most importantly serve the purpose it is designed for; to help clean up litter and waste that is on beaches, riverbanks, parks, sport fields, pavements, and other public areas.
